Ratings Roundup: Corrie still riding high Monday

The aftermath of the Corrie murder kept viewers hooked on Monday night, according to early overnights.

As usual, the 7.30pm episode ranked highest with an average of 13.04 million viewers and a 55.4% share of the available audience. The 8.30pm edition drew 11.95 million (47.2%), marginally more than BBC One's EastEnders, which had 11.88 million (48.9%). Emmerdale put in an average of 10.14 million (46.2%) for fourth place.

At 9pm, Robson Green drama Wire in the Blood was back down again to 6.87 million (29.4%) as BBC One's Comic Relief Does Fame Academy stole away viewers to average 6.62 million (27.2%). The later results show, screened at 10.35pm, pulled in 5.59 million (33.6%).

Channel 4's primetime lineup largely went unnoticed, beginning at 8pm with a desperate 0.7 million (2.8%) for immigration documentary Let 'Em All In. Figures rose in the 9pm hour to 1.54 million (24.6%) for Extraordinary Families and peaked the following hour with 1.55 million (8.3%) for a new ER.

Over on multichannel, top programme of the day went to Sky One's 7pm Simpsons repeat, seen by 720,000 viewers (5.2%). The highest-rated original programme was BBC Three's extra coverage of Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, which pulled in 589,000 (7.6%) at 11pm.

Also faring well was Sky Sports 1's Monday Night Football coverage of the game between Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers, with an average of 540,000 (3.5%) from 7.30pm.

ITV2's premiere of Unbreakable mustered 427,000 (3%) between 9pm and 11pm, while on Sky One at 9pm, new Hollywood series Made in LA flopped with just 118,000 (0.7%).
