Sit Up changes movie channel proposals

Sit Up has changed the proposals for its two new movie channels, according to a report in Broadcast this week.
As we reported in January, the company was intending to launch two film stations on Sky. 'Movies on 333' would feature westerns and student films while 'Real-movies.tv' would showcase TV and cinematic releases based on real-life events.
Now the broadcaster has modified the offerings and is planning to launch channels called 'Bad Movies' and 'Matinee Movies' later this Spring.
Bad Movies, on air between 9pm and 9am daily, will deliberately set out to show cinematic turkeys. Titles on the slate include Revenge of the Cheerleaders, which stars David Hasselhoff as a student in a high school full of crazed cheerleaders, and White Cargo, a 70s film with David Jason appearing as a white slave.
Matinee Movies, meanwhile, will broadcast "classic and family" titles such as Carry On Admiral and Tom Brown's Schooldays.
Both channels have secured slots on Sky; Sit Up is persisting with attempts to gain carriage via Freeview.
