Vega radio station has been closed down after four and a half years on air due to poor ratings.
The Australian experimental station, which cost DMG $100 million (£60 million) to launch and run, was replaced by Classic Rock 95.3 at 6am this morning.
DMG Australia boss Cathy O'Connor told The Daily Telegraph: "We knew we needed a simple, focused music concept that would appeal to the 35 to 54-year-old audience. Classic Rock 95.3FM provides exactly that."
The replacement station will reportedly feature bands such as INXS, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Cold Chisel.
