Xfm wins Manchester radio licence

GCap station Xfm has been awarded the new local commercial radio licence for Manchester.
The station is expected to broadcast on 97.7MHz, covering the city of Manchester and the surrounding area. It will target 15-34 year-olds, "playing generally guitar-led, quality modern and classic 'music with attitude' created by artists who challenge mainstream pop aesthetics."
In other radio licensing news today, Seven Towers FM was awarded the new licence for Ballymena and Crown FM was awarded the new licence for Norwich.
