MTV Networks launches Logo TV

MTV Networks will launch Logo TV, a new network for the LGBT community, at 9pm ET in the US.
At launch, Logo will be added to the basic digital tier on cable providers in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta. It will also launch on digital satellite service DirecTV.
The new network has won praise from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. The organisation's entertainment media director Damon Romine said that the network "has the potential to reach millions of American television viewers with images and stories that can play a vital role in broadening understanding of our lives, our families and our relationships."
