ITV HD viewers miss England goal

ITV HD viewers reportedly missed England's first World Cup goal after a transmission error.

World Cup host Adrian Chiles apologised for the interruption of the England v USA game, which allegedly left some viewers seeing an advert.

An ITV spokeswoman told the BBC: "A transmission problem temporarily affected ITV1's HD service during the England/USA match.

"ITV standard definition service continued uninterrupted. We apologise for the interruption in transmission."
