Six US networks join forces for Katrina aid

All six US broadcast networks are joining together for a live and commercial-free telethon to raise funds for the tens of thousands of victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Shelter From The Storm: A Concert For The Gulf Coast will air simultaneously on ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, The WB and UPN at 8pm ET on Friday, September 9. It will air live in the Eastern and Central time zones and on a tape delay in the Mountain and Pacific zones. The programme will be available for carriage by other broadcast stations, cable networks, radio stations and broadband internet providers.
Joel Gallen is executive producer for the special broadcast. Gallen also produced America: A Tribute to Heroes, a telethon that aired in September 2001.
