MTV to launch HDTV channel

MTV will launch a high definition channel in the US next year.
Named MHD, the channel will showcase content from various MTV Networks channels. Programming will be aimed at the 18-34 demographic, with shows expected to include MTV Unplugged and VH-1 Storytellers. MHD will also have some original content including HD music videos.
The channel is scheduled to launch in January 2006.
