ITV is planning to launch a suite of gaming and shopping channels next year, according to this week's Broadcast.
The stations, which will be available via broadband, mobile phones and TV platforms, are being viewed as an alternative to traditional advertising revenues.
"We are looking at transactional revenues through ITV Play and shopping," ITV chief exec Charles Allen confirmed at a Broadcasting Press Guild lunch on Wednesday.
The broadcaster is also thought to be pursuing Sit Up TV, operator of a host of transactional channels.
