The DJ, who has been hosting the breakfast show slot since 2004, confirmed the news on his Twitter feed last night.
"Evening all. I might treat myself to a few drinks tonight as it's warm and the contract at work is now done," he wrote. "12 more months of early starts!"
He added this morning: "I've re-signed the contract. The contract is now finally done, which is very exciting. I'm really pleased."
Moyles joined Radio 1 in 1997 as the early breakfast presenter, before taking over the drivetime show one year later. Last year, he overtook Tony Blackburn as the longest-serving breakfast show host.
The 36-year-old confirmed last September that he had taken pay cut to help out the BBC.
