On July 29, live coverage of the debate at the Oval Community Centre in Stevenage will be aired on Radio 5 Live during Derbyshire's regular programme from 10am to 12 noon.
Following Gordon Brown's decision to step down as party leader after losing the general election in May, the Labour party has been searching for the right person to take his place.
The debate will feature the main leadership candidates - David Miliband, Ed Miliband, Ed Balls, Andy Burnham and Diane Abbott - outlining their vision for the Labour party's future.
Alongside responding to questions from a studio audience, the politicians will also take questions from 5 Live listeners, with Derbyshire moderating the debate process.
Coverage of the debate will also be aired live on the BBC News Channel.
