Former Arsenal star Ian Wright has reportedly joined Absolute Radio's football coverage team for when the station starts broadcasting live Premier League games in August.

According to The Guardian, Wright will front a 90-minute post-match analysis show on Absolute Radio every Saturday from 5pm, starting on August 14.

Wright's programme, which will be broadcast on Absolute Radio and the station's new Absolute Radio Extra digital network, will see him joined by commentator Jim Proudfoot, broadcaster Russ Williams and other guests.

In February, Absolute secured broadcast rights to provide live commentary of 32 Premier League games with 3pm Saturday kick offs each season, signalling an end to the BBC and TalkSport's dominance over coverage.

Proudfoot, who has previously appeared on TalkSport, Capital Gold, Sky Sports and Setanta Sports, will lead the commentary team for Absolute's games, which will be broadcast on Absolute Radio Extra, along with nationwide via AM and online.

The main Absolute Radio station will also air Rock & Roll Football, which will involve Williams presenting a two-hour show mixing music and football. Williams will also front a 90-minute Premier League build-up programme on Absolute Radio Extra.
