According to figures produced by Ipsos MORI and endorsed by audience measurement body RAJAR, the station attracted an average weekly audience of 488,470 listeners between May 18 and July 26, 2010.
The station's weekly audience share was up 45% on figures for the same period in 2008, including the strongest growth reported in males aged between 18 and 34.
On average, people spend ten hours a week listening to the station's programming, which is available online and via digital audio broadcasting (DAB) in London and Brighton. GaydarRadio can also be found on Sky's digital TV platform.
At 79% of all listening, online remains the most popular platform for accessing GaydarRadio, but the station has also seen a significant increase in its DAB audience.
"I am delighted with our audience figures. It proves in black and white what we have known for a long time, our audience love our upfront music policy, and no-nonsense broadcasting," said Gaydar's head of radio Robin Crowley.
"Not only are they listening for longer, they are introducing their friends to Gaydar Radio in droves."
Gaydar sales manager Pippa Jackson added: "Now, more than ever before, GaydarRadio has a listener profile that is an advertisers dream; 86% are ABC1; 92% are men with an average age of 35 with a disposable income and a huge desire to consume.
"The GaydarRadio audience is one bucking the trend of reduced spending during these tough times, as our listeners want the best, and they want it now!
"Their consumption of our multi-platform brand enables us to communicate our clients message 24 hours a day wherever they may be. And the launch of our GaydarRadio app we are ensuring our position as truly national radio station."
