Neville-Rolfe, who is the supermarket chain's director of corporate and legal affairs, officially started as a non-executive director at ITV last Friday.
In a statement, ITV praised Neville-Rolfe's long track record of achievement in business and the public sector.
Prior to joining Tesco, she held senior positions in several government departments, including the Prime Minister's Policy Unit, BIS, the Cabinet Office and DEFRA.
Her appointment also represents the second time that ITV has sourced business expertise from the supermarket industry, after Asda chief executive Archie Norman was named the broadcaster's new chairman at the end of 2009.
