The Australian singer was axed by Nova despite being nominated for 'Best Newcomer' at the country's radio awards.
Speaking to Australia's Daily Telegraph, Coulter said: "Nobody wants to feel unwanted, so when something like that happens you do feel a bit upset.
"We were negotiating for next year, but then that stopped and I was told. At that stage I was half expecting it, but there's still a bit of shock, it's a bit upsetting, but it is what it is."
Coulter added that she will not be attending the radio awards despite her nomination, and that she was never given a specific reason for her axe.
The presenter will be replaced at the station by Katie 'Monty' Diamond.
