The Australian television and radio personality, who has recently
called in sick on more than one occasion despite still making appearances on The X Factor, reportedly has network chiefs "over a barrel" with his time off.
An industry insider told The Daily Telegraph: "If I was the general manager of 2DayFM I would be seriously questioning his commitment.
"I would not be happy with the set-up - spending a lot of time doing the show from Los Angeles while [co-host] Jackie O is in Sydney, and then all the TV stuff.
"They are making continual concessions to him but they have to because he and Jackie O have the biggest show and generate the most revenue."
One of Austereo's managers, however, said: "We're very happy and we acknowledge he works hard across many opportunities and we're happy with that. We love it when he's on air and are concerned whenever any staff member is unwell."
