Tellem has been appointed a non-executive director at All3Media, which owns the makers of shows such as Skins, Hollyoaks and Midsomer Murders.
She was president of CBS's Entertainment Group from 2004 to 2009, after joining the US network in 1997. Tellem will continue to act as an advisor to CBS Corporation chief executive Leslie Moonves in a role she started in December last year.
Speaking about Tellem's profile, All3Media chief executive Steve Morrison said: "She is one of America's most distinguished media executives.
"She brings to All3Media a wealth of experience in broadcasting, TV production, digital media, international partnership and coproduction. I am sure her wise counsel will be invaluable as we grow in America and worldwide."
Tellem's appointment comes amid speculation that All3Media could be sold in the New Year, with ITV rumoured to be considering a bid for the firm to bolster its ITV Studios production arm.
