MTV to launch local channel in Ukraine

Speaking at a press conference in Kiev, Dean Possenninskie, vp of developing markets at MTV Europe, confirmed: "MTV Ukraine will be joining the family."
The new 24-hour channel will broadcast in Ukranian and feature a mix of local and international acts. Broadcasts of MTV Russia, MTV Germany and MTV Europe are expected to continue in the country post-launch.
Gennady Borisov, general manager of MTV Ukraine, added: "We will try to maximise the percentage of videos and shows that will be made by Ukrainian talents while at the same time showing Ukrainian youth what has been done throughout the world."
