Published Friday, Feb 17 2006, 18:16 GMT | By Neil Wilkes

Rivers will move from London to Thailand to undertake the role, which will include reporting from the region for all of CNN's services, including CNNI and CNN/US.
"Dan has a formidable track record as a correspondent," said Tony Maddox, svp of CNNI newsgathering. "From his forensic coverage of the July 7 bombings in London, his coverage of the Asian Tsunami and his exhaustive reporting of the Hutton Inquiry he shows a depth of talent that CNN is proud to have on board."
