Channel 4 has today announced a reshuffle of its multiplatform commissioning team, as the broadcaster works to further integrate its online and TV output.

Adam Gee has been appointed Channel 4's multiplatform commissioning editor for features and factual entertainment, while Hilary Perkins takes on the same role for drama and film, Jody Smith comes in for entertainment and comedy, and Kate Quilton tackles documentaries and specialist factual.

Reporting to acting multiplatform commissioning lead Matt Locke, the four editors will be responsible for commissioning content and services that "complements the television output on platforms beyond the linear TV transmission".

Vicky Taylor will continue as multiplatform commissioning editor for news and current affairs, while Locke will oversee the recruitment of a new editor for sport.

In July, Richard Davidson-Houston was appointed to lead an enlarged Channel 4 Online unit with responsibility for all the broadcaster's multiplatform propositions and services.

"My goal is for Channel 4 Online to be the partner of choice for the UK's independent digital production sector. I've bolstered the team and simplified the structure in pursuit of that goal," said Davidson-Houston, who will report to new Channel 4 chief creative officer Jay Hunt when she starts in January.

"I am determined that Channel 4 continues to lead the way with innovative and engaging multiplatform experiences. We now have the right people in the right roles, properly integrated with the commissioning structure. We are united creatively and very excited about the future this will bring."

Yesterday, Channel 4's commissioning editor for education Alice Taylor announced that she is leaving the broadcaster to launch her own digital start-up.
