According to The Sun, BBC bosses are concerned that the DJ may attract controversy if he shares his opinion on the scandal.
He is said to be the only Radio 1 DJ to receive such a ban, after colleagues Greg James and Scott Mills already featured the topic on their respective shows. Moyles has apparently told friends that Andy Gray and Richard Keys are "idiots" for demeaning women with their comments.
An insider said: "Chris isn't happy. His humour is near the knuckle - but what Gray and Keys did is bang out of order as far as he's concerned. It would have made a perfect discussion piece for his show. He's been unfairly singled out."
Gray was recently fired from Sky Sports after making sexist comments about a female assistant referee, while Keys resigned from the broadcaster.
