Parry, who left TalkSport this month after more than 10 years at the station, will make his debut on 606 this Saturday at 7.15pm, standing in for regular presenter Mark Chapman.
Speaking about his new role on Radio 5 Live, Parry said: "In broadcasting terms I feel like I've just had a call from the manager of Real Madrid.
"What an opportunity to rise to the challenge of hosting one of the most famous slots in British broadcasting. It's FA Cup weekend and I can't wait to meet the 606 listeners for the first time."
According to the latest RAJAR data, Radio 5 Live registered a record audience of more than 7m listeners in the final three months of last year, buoyed by live coverage of The Ashes and Premier League football.
Under the BBC's restructure plans for its online division, the 606 community discussion website is among the numerous services earmarked for closure to cut costs.
