Warner Bros UK has appointed former Channel 4 executive Polly Cochrane to the role of senior vice president & group marketing director.

In her new role, Cochrane will be responsible for driving and developing Warner UK's 40-strong integrated marketing operation across the movies, TV and games divisions.

Reporting to Josh Berger, president & managing director of Warner Bros UK, Ireland and Spain, Cochrane will handle specific upcoming campaigns for major new releases, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, video game Batman: Arkham City and TV show Shameless USA.

Warner Bros UK enjoyed its biggest ever year in 2010, buoyed by strong box office results from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (£52.2m), Inception (£35.7m), Sex And The City 2 (£21.6m) and Sherlock Holmes (£25.2m).

Discussing Cochrane's promotion, Berger said: "Polly is an exceptional executive who, in the short time she has been with us, has made an outstanding contribution to the company's success, creating a 'best in class' marketing function that has helped us to deliver our best ever theatrical year and regain the top spot in the Home Video rankings."

Cochrane joined Warner Bros in April 2009 from the Channel 4 marketing team, where she handled the launch campaigns for More4, Film4, Channel 4 +1 and video on-demand service 4OD. Prior to that, she was head of advertising and promotions at Channel 5.
