Claudia Rosencrantz has emerged as the favourite to head up Living TV.
The exec, who quit as ITV's entertainment controller last month after a ten year tenure, is expected to be confirmed in the role within the next few days.
The top job at Flextech's flagship entertainment channel has been vacant since former controller Richard Woolfe left for Sky One.
Others in the frame are thought to include Ben Frow, controller of features and entertainment at Five; Heather Jones, MD of Paramount Comedy and Daniella Neumann, former head of programmes at ITV2 and ITV3.
