Moyles 'attempting radio show world record'

Speaking on his BBC Radio 1 breakfast show this morning, the presenter told listeners that in addition to breaking Radio 1's in-house record of 37 hours, the team will also try to set a new record for 'Radio DJ Endurance Marathon (Team)'.
Moyles said: "By the time we've done 37 hours, we may as well go for broke and hit 51.5 hours and set a new world record. That means that we can hopefully raise even more cash for Red Nose Day. Although I do think we might be completely mental."
His co-host Dave Vitty added: "I'm apprehensive, nervous and confident that it's a wholly stupid idea."
The pair started broadcasting at 6.30am this morning and will have to join each presenter in the schedule as a guest in order for the record to be valid. Moyles and Vitty are allowed five minutes off air per hour, which they can 'save up' to take longer breaks if they wish.
Guests including Jimmy Carr, The Wanted and Olly Murs will visit Radio 1 to support the pair. The record attempt is also being broadcast on digital TV via the red button and online.
Radio 1's in-house record was set for Comic Relief by Simon Mayo in 1999.
