Rachel Innes-Lumsden has been named as the BBC's first head of development for factual and learning.
Currently an executive producer in the department, Lumsen's credits include Home Front, Property People and BBC Three's Wedding Stories. She was also responsible for overseeing the US version of What Not To Wear from the BBC's New York office.
"Rachel is a highly respected programme-maker with a deserved reputation for fresh thinking and collaborative working," said John Willis, director of factual and learning. "Growing our Development talent, and involving everyone in our business in the creative process, is crucial to generating exciting new commissions and leading our editorial strategy."
