Channel 4 is on the verge of signing a new five-year contract with ITN, according to Broadcast.
The agreement, said to be worth around £100 million, will cover all news output on Channel 4 and is also likely to include provisions for More4's news bulletins.
It is also expected to include an opt-out clause for C4, should the ownership of ITN - currently ITV (40%), Daily Mail & General Trust (20%), Reuters (20%) and United Business Media (20%) - change.
The existing two-year deal finishes at the end of this year.
