According to The Guardian, Cotton and Bowman will join the corporation's extensive coverage of the event, reporting from a number of locations across London alongside sports presenter Jake Humphrey and The One Show reporters Alex Jones and Anita Rani.
In December 2010, the BBC announced that Huw Edwards would serve as the main news anchor on the day of the wedding, rather than the widely expected choice of Question Time presenter David Dimbleby.
In terms of radio coverage, Vernon Kay and Scott Mills will cover the wedding on Radio 1, Chris Evans and Ken Bruce across Radio 2, Edward Stourton and James Naughtie on Radio 4, while Victoria Derbyshire and Richard Bacon will do the same on Radio 5 Live.
In February, Buckingham Palace confirmed that they had ruled out the possibility of covering the royal wedding in 3D, although the special event will be broadcast worldwide.
Prince William and Kate Middleton will marry at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29.
