It was previously thought that the Australian pair, who took over the Austereo morning show from Mondays to Thursdays after comedy duo Hamish Blake and Andy Lee quit last year, would not manage to keep listener figures as high as their predecessors.
According to the Nielsen survey, Box and Lund have gained 11,000 listeners since they started hosting the show.
The station's chief Guy Dobson told The Age: "Everyone was telling us we'd lose listeners. Instead, we had the biggest increase of any drive show."
It is believed that Blake and Lee's Friday drivetime show still has a few more listeners than Box and Lund's sessions.
The survey also revealed that 3AW radio scored its best ratings result in four years with a 17.3% audience share and Fox's drivetime show listener figures improved by 2%. Nova radio station has lost listeners with a record low of 6.5%.
