C4, ITN confirm 5-year news contract
Published Thursday, Apr 6 2006, 08:12 BST | By Neil Wilkes

As expected, the deal is worth "in excess" of £100 million and covers the Channel 4 News, News At Noon and More4 News bulletins.
It also provides for a number of new initiatives to "enhance" the existing news service: the C4 news website will be relaunched with more "in-depth" and interactive reports, an expanded reporter blogging service and more video; a new bureau will be opened in Beijing; and a video-based mobile service will be launched.
Director of television Kevin Lygo described the bulletins as the "public service cornerstone" of C4's schedule, adding that the new deal would place C4 News "at the forefront of [our] continuing push into new media".
