Ahead of the MIPTV conference in Cannes, pay-TV network Foxtel Australia has purchased Louis Spence's Showbusiness for its Arena channel.
Foxtel has also acquired the ITV Studios-produced comedy White Van Man, starring Will Mellor, for The Comedy Channel, along with Dublin-based drama Love/Hate for W and factual entertainment series Police POV for the Crime & Investigation Network.
Channel operator XYZnetworks has bought hit reality show Four Weddings USA for its LifeStyle You channel, along with Katie & Alex: For Better, For Worse, Psychic Sally and Zoo Days.
The broadcaster's Lifestyle Food network will air May the Best House Win, Britain's Best Dish and Country House Cooking Contest.
Australia's national broadcaster ABC TV has snapped up Joe Maddison's War, an ITV1 period drama starring Robson Green, along with series two of hit comedy Miranda and the latest series of children's animation Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids.
Seven Network has picked up detective franchise Vera, starring Academy Award nominee Brenda Blethyn, and series five of crime drama Lewis.
Augustus Dulgaro, the recently-promoted senior vice president for Asia Pacific at ITV Studios, concluded all the sales deals.
"There is great demand in this region for high-quality primetime content across all genres and we are delighted to confirm this wide range of deals," he said.
"The programming acquired for audiences in Australia and New Zealand is a fantastic representation of the strong content and wide breadth of variety in our portfolio and we are looking forward to seeing these titles debut throughout 2011."
Speculation is mounting that ITV is considering a major acquisition of a production company to address the shortage of "creative talent" at ITV Studios.
