Launched on Virgin Media last November, Cinémoi broadcasts a variety of French movies and film-related programming. The channel, part owned by Jonathan Ross, is also available on Sky.
Cinémoi's Cannes coverage will include a series of exclusive interviews with top actors and actresses, along with the latest news from the red carpet.
Former Film 2010 host Ross will launch the coverage on May 11 at 8.30pm with a programme dedicated to the history of Cannes. Observer film critic Jason Solomons and TV presenter Izzy Lawrence will conduct interviews during the festival and cover all the parties and gossip.
"The Cannes Film Festival is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and glamorous events of the film year - a real showcase of international talent," said Ross. "I'm delighted to be hosting the coverage this year. Don't miss it - I'll see you on the red carpet!"
The full Cannes lineup was announced last week, including Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life starring Brad Pitt, Lars von Trier's Melancholia and blockbuster sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
An array of film greats are expected to attend the annual festival in France, including this year's festival president Robert de Niro and legendary filmmaker Malick.
In addition to the Cinémoi broadcast coverage, Virgin Media will also offer a series of exclusive interviews and videos on the Movies section of its website.
"We're delighted to be working with Cinémoi to bring our customers the best of Cannes straight to their TVs," said Cindy Rose, executive director of entertainment at Virgin Media.
"With a massive library of movies on Virgin Media, both through our pioneering TV on demand service and through our compelling range of movie channels, our customers have an unrivalled choice for film.
"This special content from Cinémoi, both on Virgin TV and through Virginmedia.com, will be perfect for fans to keep up with the latest news and gossip from the film industry's premier event."
Julien Planté, Cinémoi's artistic director, added: "This will be the third time that Cinémoi has covered Cannes and our seven 26-minute shows remain the only comprehensive coverage of the festival in the UK."
Cinémoi will further offer exclusive photos, news and videos throughout the Cannes Film Festival on its free 'Cinémoi Cannes' iPhone App.
