In his new position, Wildman will be responsible for leading SPT's ad sales business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa; developing new business opportunities across both broadcast and digital outlets.
Reporting to senior vice president of networks Eddie Nelson, Wildman will drive the headline ad sales strategy for SPT's 48 channels across EMEA, including AXN, Sony Max, Animax and the new Sony Entertainment Television channel.
Wildman joins SPT from Luxe TV, where he was managing director of the Luxembourg-based broadcaster overseeing all commercial activity. He started his ad sales career at ITV and Sky, later leading Discovery's commercial operation in the UK.
Celebrating the appointment, Nelson said: "Our networks business across the EMEA region is rapidly growing.
"Jon's track record speaks for itself - impressive strategic and operational success across the television and digital landscape - so having him join our top team in EMEA is brilliant news for the business as we seek to expand."
Wildman added: "Sony Pictures is synonymous with high quality entertainment and the programming captivates viewers throughout the region and across platforms. The opportunity to extend this experience with leading brands across EMEA is enormously exciting."
