In the two-minute film, Plan B deconstructs his song She Said inside a recording studio, going through the musical layers that created the hit track.
The advert, due to run in cinemas for three weeks from June 10, promotes HP's new range of laptops alongside a companion TV advertising campaign featuring rap producer Dr Dre.
Plan B - real name Ben Drew - was selected for the campaign after winning three Ivor Novello Awards for his album The Defamation of Strickland Banks.
Ben Kerr, managing partner at the Drum agency, which created the film, told The Guardian: "We hope to create an experience unlike anything else at cinemas.
"Sound makes a big difference to any media experience and we hope this film reminds people just how powerful it can be."
The ad will also feature online on the H-P and Plan B official Facebook pages, as well as on YouTube. The online version of the film uses 3D sound technology that creates a surround sound effect when listened to with headphones.
Also this week, Plan B explained the reasons why he decided to reject a potential collaboration with hip-hop star Jay-Z.
