ITV's Allen to address television festival

ITV chief executive Charles Allen will deliver the keynote speech at this year's Edinburgh Television Festival.
The 49-year-old began working for ITV's board in 2003, having previously worked at Granada. He will address an audience of 2000 at the MacTaggart Lecture on August 25.
Dawn Airey, executive chair of the festival, said: "[We are] delighted that Charles has
agreed to deliver this year's MacTaggart. It promises to be a fascinating look at the future of British broadcasting, from one of the industry heavyweights."
Previous speakers include Michael Grade, Rupert Murdoch and John Humphrys.
