Flextech MD Opie quits after 13 years

Flextech's managing director Lisa Opie has quit after thirteen years at the company.
Opie, who is leaving with no job to go to, will stay on until the end of July "to ensure a smooth handover".
"I have achieved everything I set out to do and steered the company through incredible changes to great success," she said. "Now is a natural time for me to look for a new challenge but first I plan to take a short break and spend some time with my family."
Her decision comes just three months after Malcolm Wall was brought in above her as chief executive of content at NTL/Telewest. "I get on very well with Malcolm. His arrival has nothing to do with it," Opie told Broadcast. "He wanted me to stay."
Wall added: "It is with both surprise and sadness that we accept Lisa's decision to leave and we shall miss her greatly. I have confidence in the abilities of the great senior management team at Flextech Television, however, and we will bounce back."
A recruitment is now underway to find a replacement.
