Bramley will assume responsibility of the venture's technical team and the delivery of its overall technology strategy.
YouView chief executive officer Richard Halton said: "Chris has proven his technology leadership through delivering innovative new services into UK homes.
"He has the right expertise to lead YouView's technical team through launch and to support the future growth of the platform. I am delighted to welcome him on board."
Bramley was previously chief architect at BSkyB, leading the technical teams on the delivery of Anytime, Sky Player and Sky Go. He previously designed and delivered the first over-the-top VOD service from a UK broadcaster.
Jeff Hunter retains his position as chief architect at YouView and Youssef (Sef) Tuma also continues as head of technical delivery.
Anthony Rose quit as CTO of the joint venture from BBC, ITV, BT, Channel 4, TalkTalk, Arqiva and Channel 5 last year.
He had joined the venture - then called Project Canvas - in March, following his work on the iPlayer platform.
