Hit Entertainment has confirmed plans to launch a new kids channel but has decided against entering the UK market, according to C21 Media.
The company, which owns the rights to titles such as Bob The Builder and Thomas The Tank Engine, will instead roll out the channel across Europe within the next year or two.
"The market is far too crowded in the UK," chief executive Bruce Steinberg told the website. "There's Nick and CBeebies, Cartoon Network, Disney and Jetix just for starters."
Steinberg added that the channel would be run in conjunction with a number of partners, including content providers, platform owners and investors.
