Sony Radio Award-winning presenter, Daryl Denham, is to join Virgin Radio.
Daryl, who currently presents the breakfast show on Birmingham's Heart 100.7 and won two international radio awards while working at Sheffield's Hallam FM, will be joining Virgin Radio next year.
Daryl, who once was thrown out of a shopping centre for asking Monica Lewinsky awkward questions about cigars, told virginradio.co.uk: "It's a fantastic opportunity to join Virgin Radio. I'm a huge fan of the station and of the website, and I'm really looking forward to joining."
The Sony Radio Award judges, when judging a tape of Daryl's show, said his programme was "...a welcome blast of fresh air. ... Daryl is a broadcaster who does not underestimate or patronise his audience and avoids relying on base, easy humour. He also showed a refreshing depth of understanding of the music played. An extremely rich and creative programme very worthy of gold award."
