Sir David Attenborough, Mark Thompson, Al Gore and Charles Allen are among the figures appearing at this year's Edinburgh TV Festival.
The Festival programme, announced yesterday, includes sessions examining the portrayal of "chav" culture on TV, whether on-demand media is overhyped and whether conservatives can get on TV more easily than their left wing counterparts.
Controller interviews include Dan Chambers (Five), Peter Fincham (BBC One), Kevin Lygo (Channel 4), Roly Keating (BBC Two), Richard Woolfe (Sky One) and Simon Shaps (ITV).
Industry figures such as Peter Salmon, Jana Bennett and Sophie Turner-Laing will compete in a special version of The Apprentice, compered by Sir Alan Sugar. Allen will deliver the MacTaggart Lecture and Gore the Alternative MacTaggart, while Rageh Omaar will give the keynote Worldview Address. Russell Brand has been named host of the Channel of the Year Awards.
Registration for the Festival, which takes place August 25-27, is open now at mgeitf.co.uk.
