'Doctor Who' helps iPlayer to 153m requests in September

According to figures released today by the BBC, catch-up and on-demand platform iPlayer generated 32m requests for content every week, breaking down as 10m for radio and 22m for TV.
The service attracted 4.3m requests every single day, down on the record of 4.5m in February this year, but up by 100,000 on the preceding month.
Overall, iPlayer commanded 153m requests for TV and radio shows last month, down on the record of 162m in January, but up by 39m requests on the same month in 2010.
Doctor Who dominated the most popular TV shows with four episodes in the top ten - including 'The Girl Who Waited' at number one with 1.16m requests, and 'Night Terrors' at number two with 1.12m. 'The God Complex' and 'Closing Time' came fourth and fifth respectively with 1.01m and 965,000.
Other popular TV shows included the first episode of series four of Outnumbered, with 1.04m requests, and episode 11 of series seven of Waterloo Road, at 711,000.
On radio, episode one of series 75 of Radio 4's The News Quiz attracted 107,000 requests and The Chris Moyles Show on September 20 pulled in 102,000.
Radio 5 Live's coverage of the Manchester United's Premier League clash with Chelsea was requested by 75,000 users, with the same number enjoying Fearne Cotton's Live Lounge on September 30.
