Snowdon made the announcement this morning to Capital listeners, confirming that Berry will become her permanent new co-host from January 2012.
Berry, who is engaged to Sugababes singer Heidi Range, started his broadcasting career at MTV's Nickelodeon, before moving to Channel 4's T4 strand in 2004.
He spent three years on Capital's sister station Xfm and currently presents the Capital weekend breakfast show.
Berry told the Capital blog: "To be given the opportunity to wake up London every weekday morning is a dream come true. I have an absolute passion for radio, I love this city and of course it's no bad thing working alongside the gorgeous Lisa Snowdon. Bring it on!"
Various high-profile names had been linked with the Capital breakfast show following Vaughan's unexpected exit on November 18, including BBC Radio 1's Chris Moyles.
Bookmakers were also taking bets on more outside contenders, including Celebrity Juice star Keith Lemon and former Radio 2 breakfast legend Terry Wogan.
