Virgin Media has today added three new channels to its cable television platform, with the launch of Sony Entertainment Television, CBS Action and NDTV.

Sony Entertainment Television, which launched in April on Sky, is now available at channel 193 on Virgin.

The channel offers a range of content from Sony Pictures, including TV shows such as Hustle, Hawthorne and new series The Tudors, along with movies including Spider-Man 3, Surf's Up, French Kiss and The Thomas Crown Affair.

Virgin Media has also today added CBS Action at channel 192, broadcasting drama shows such as The Agency, starring Beau Bridges, and a forthcoming Western Season in January featuring Gunsmoke, The Legend of Butch and Sundance and Blood River.

Wrapping up the new channel launches is news channel NDTV, India's most watched English news network and the winner of numerous awards on the subcontinent.

The channel, available at 621 on the Virgin EPG, is home to India's finest broadcast journalists providing incisive rolling news to the Indian Diaspora.

Virgin Media has now added 13 new channels in total this year, including eight high definition networks such as five HD networks from UKTV in October.

"We've been working extremely hard this year to deliver a sterling lineup of channels, more on-demand content as well as launching revolutionary new products and services," said Cindy Rose, the executive director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media.

"2012 is going to be an even more exciting year as TiVo continues to develop with the arrival of exciting apps and diverse services, reinforcing Virgin Media as the most innovative and pioneering digital home entertainment provider in the market."
