Independent auditors Bright Grahame Murray produced a monthly average circulation for the T3 interactive iPad edition, revealing that the digital magazine generated sales of 14,223 per month for the period July to December 2011.
The T3 interactive edition, which launched on iPad in October 2010, features 360-degree, hands-on product photography, along with breaking news, interactive reviews and image galleries.
T3 and technology group publishing director Nial Ferguson said that releasing the independent figures was about showing the strength of digital titles to advertisers.
"As proven pioneers in producing fully-interactive tablet content, I'm pleased that we are also pioneers in delivering a truly transparent, audited account of our interactive sales," he said.
"We are only at the beginning of the tablet journey, but our commitment is to provide our client and agency partners with a clear understanding of this new and exciting interactive magazine experience."
Official magazine and website circulation body ABC intends to soon introduce a new Digital Publication Certificate, which will more accurately gauge the popularity of digital editions of publications such as The Sunday Times and Empire, along with iPad-only titles such as Rupert Murdoch's The Daily.
Many publishers have benefited form the release of Apple's Newsstand service for iPads and iPhones last October, which introduced a retail-style news-rack for showcasing new magazines and also laying out user subscriptions.
T3's publisher Future offers more than 65 digital editions, and claims to sell in excess of 150,000 digital titles every month through Newsstand, iTunes and Zinio, with over 40% of sales coming from subscriptions.
Future chief executive Mark Wood said: "Future is rightly regarded as a world leader in tablet publishing. Apple's Newsstand is simply a transformational platform for magazine publishers.
"An iTunes for magazines, it has created a truly borderless distribution model, reaching new audiences hungry for our content. With sales of tablets set to grow exponentially in the next few years, we are only at the beginning of what will be an amazing journey."
