MSN to expand broadband sports channel
Published Wednesday, Oct 11 2006, 00:39 BST | By James Welsh
MSN UK has signed a deal with Narrowstep to obtain more extreme sports and football content for its broadband sports channel.
Under the terms of the deal, content from Narrowstep's production arm Sportshows Television will be added to MSN's video offerings. MSN will also link out to Narrowstep-powered TV-over-IP sports channels.
Narrowstep already has a hold in the UK broadband TV market with its involvement in ITV Local.
"Content is a huge commodity, and the Internet is already awash with video and other content, but finding quality content is another issue," said MSN EMEA business development head Will Bromage. "We wanted to work with Narrowstep because of the high standard of their content and also because they are leaders in the TV on the internet business."
