UKTV Food dishes up more '360'

Dedicated food channel UKTV Food, is to follow up the success of Local Food Heros, with a another multi-platform "360-commission."
The People’s Cook Book will involve a nine month campaign, starting in February, asking people to submit their favourite recipes and food stories online at www.uktvfood.co.uk.
The entries will form a database of that will inform two 10-episode series' of The People’s Cook Book, fronted by chefs Antony Worral-Thompson and Paul Rankin.
UKTV Food’s Paul Moreton said: “UKTV Food has been trailblazing UKTV’s '360 degree' commissioning strategy and we’ve already got one success under our belts with this year’s Local Food Hero campaign featuring Gary Rhodes, which more than doubled ratings and traffic to our website."
"The People’s Cook Book is just one of the ways we’ll continue to build communities and enrich lives over the next 12 months by tapping into people’s food passions, both and off-air," he added.
The first series of the show will feature 60 recipes uncovered by UKTV Food’s team of researchers and experts, which will be whittled down to 30 by the British public for inclusion in the book.
The second series will air in September 2007 and will see a further 60 recipes tried and tested, before viewers decide which of the final 30 will complete the book.
