ESPN has today (August 15) relaunched its Press Pass debate show as ESPNFC Press Pass in the UK and internationally, as part of a major rebrand of its global football coverage.

Press Pass debuted in September 2002 on ESPN international's English-speaking networks. It can now be seen in more than 107 countries and territories worldwide.

Running six days a week (missing Sunday), the show features a panel of experts, such as Frank Leboeuf, Shaka Hislop, Jorge Ramos and Craig Burley, looking at football from a global perspective.

Former Liverpool star Steve Nichol has now joined the team after previously appearing on Press Pass as an occasional contributor.

The show, rebranded as ESPNFC PressPass, will relaunch later today in the UK and worldwide. This includes its debut in the US on ESPN News, marking the first time that ESPN has had a regular football show on American television.

The revamp of Press Pass is part of the launch of ESPNFC - ESPN's new multi-platform global football brand bringing together ESPN's football content on TV, radio, online and mobile. It replaces the ESPNsoccernet branding on a global basis.

Arne Rees, vice president of international digital media for ESPN International, said that the broadcaster is making a "big statement" with the launch of ESPNFC.

"We are committed to the global game with a global, cross-media brand to cover it 24/7," she said.

"ESPNFC aims to serve fans by being the leading destination for definitive football coverage worldwide and year-round whenever and wherever fans want it."

ESPNFC's launch follows recent deals agreed by ESPN in the UK for top flight club football, including Russian Premier League, French Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Italian Serie A.

The broadcaster is putting in place a new football strategy with a more global focus after recently losing out to new rival BT in the multi-billion pound auction for English Premier League rights from the 2013/14 season.
