A full HD version of the British Eurosport channel launched on Sky and cable TV platform Virgin Media on July 25, replacing the Eurosport HD international channel.
Available exclusively on Sky, British Eurosport 2 HD will air a range of sporting events with a UK focus, including coverage of MotoGP, Davis Cup tennis, the US Open Grand Slam and the Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament, all in native HD.
The HD channel arrives just in time to allow satellite viewers to watch HD coverage of the World and British Superbike races, starting on September 9 with a double-bill of action from Donington and the Nürburgring, in Germany.
Coverage of the US Open from Flushing Meadows, New York, continues on the channel this week.
Announcing the move into HD in July, British Eurosport's managing director David Kerr said: "Our passionate and knowledgeable viewers will be able to enjoy more of their favourite sports on British Eurosport in stunning HD than ever before.
"There are some fantastic events coming up and covering them in HD will add more quality to the depth and specialist knowledge provided by our expert team of Eurosport analysts."
