Radio 2 music boss to step down

Radio 2 music chief Colin Martin, is to leave the role in March to spend more time with his family, The Guardian reports.
Attributed with introducing the likes of Norah Jones and James Blunt to the nation, Martin has been in charge of the station's music policy for the past six years, transforming its image and widen its appeal.
A drummer in the 60's, Martin began his career at the BBC in 1969 in the TV props department, and went onto produce Terry Wogan, Ken Bruce, Gloria Hunniford and Steve Wright on radio.
Radio 2's listeners have increased since he joined in 2000. In attracting presenters like Jonathan Ross, Chris Evans and now Russell Brand, the station now has more listeners than any other UK radio station.
