De Mol ups his stake in RDF

Endemol founder John de Mol has increased his stake in RDF Media Group by 3.65% this week.
The Dutch media mogul now has a 27.25% share in the company behind such hits as Wife Swap and Faking It.
Through his investment vehicle Talpa Beheer, this share now takes him closer to the 29.99% that mean he would be obliged to offer a buy out to the other shareholders.
But De Mol's representatives are reported to have assured RDF that Talpa views the company as an investment opportunity and not as a takeover target.
De Mol left Endemol in 2004 after selling his stake to Telefónica in 2000, but he could be thinking about buying back the company, if it is put up for sale by the Spanish telecoms giant next year.
